For anyone who might be interested, the panel is titled &#8216;Contemporary American Independent Cinema: Change or Continuity&#8217;. I&#8217;ll be arguing for a strong vein of continuity in contemporary indie film, using Kelly Reichardt&#8217;s\u00c2\u00a0<em>Meek&#8217;s Cutoff<\/em> as an illustrative case study.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/gkindiefilm.com\/?attachment_id=186\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-186\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-186\" title=\"poster2\" src=\"https:\/\/gkindiefilm.com\/wp-content\/upLoads\/2012\/06\/poster22.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"214\" height=\"317\" srcset=\"https:\/\/gkindiefilm.com\/wp-content\/upLoads\/2012\/06\/poster22.jpg 214w, https:\/\/gkindiefilm.com\/wp-content\/upLoads\/2012\/06\/poster22-202x300.jpg 202w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 214px) 100vw, 214px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Other panelists\/papers are as follows:<\/p>\n<p>Yannis Tzioumakis, &#8216;An Increasingly Global Presence: Contemporary American Independent cinema outside the US&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>Claire Molloy, &#8216;Independent Film and Social Entrepreneurship: The Rise of Social Impact Capital&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>Should be a good panel and will hopefully provoke some interesting discussion relating to broader issues of change vs. continuity in the contemporary indie landscape.
